Discover House Of Seoul Restaurant

The menu leans confidently into Korean comfort food, offering a mix of classics and house favorites that show real care in preparation. Bibimbap arrives in a hot stone bowl, still sizzling, with vegetables arranged neatly before being mixed tableside. That method matters: the rice crisps at the bottom, adding texture without burning, something I’ve seen done well only at restaurants run by cooks who respect the process. The bulgogi is thinly sliced, properly marinated, and grilled just long enough to keep it tender. Each bite balances sweet, savory, and smoky notes rather than overpowering the palate.

One thing that stands out is the banchan. These small side dishes are more than fillers here. The kimchi has a clean, fermented tang instead of harsh sourness, which usually means controlled fermentation time and temperature. Research from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has shown that fermented foods like kimchi support gut health by promoting beneficial bacteria, and you can taste that careful fermentation in every bite. The pickled radish and seasoned spinach rotate occasionally, which tells me the kitchen adapts based on freshness rather than locking into shortcuts.

During one visit, I watched a first-time guest ask the server how to eat their dish properly. Instead of a rushed explanation, they received a calm walkthrough of how to mix sauces and sides for the best flavor balance. That kind of service builds trust and reflects deep familiarity with the cuisine. It also explains why so many local reviews mention friendly staff and patient guidance for newcomers to Korean food.

The restaurant’s location at 12721 W 14th Ave, Airway Heights, WA 99001, United States makes it an easy stop whether you’re local or passing through. Parking is straightforward, and the dining pace feels relaxed, not rushed, even during busy hours. I’ve noticed families, military members from nearby Fairchild Air Force Base, and solo diners all sharing the space comfortably, which says a lot about how welcoming the environment is.

What gives this place real authority is consistency. Korean cuisine relies on balance and timing, from marinating proteins to fermenting vegetables, and inconsistency is easy to spot if corners are cut. Here, dishes arrive steady and reliable across visits. According to the Korean Food Promotion Institute, maintaining traditional cooking techniques is key to preserving authentic flavor profiles, and this kitchen clearly follows those principles without turning the experience into something formal or intimidating.

There are limits, of course. The menu doesn’t try to be everything at once, so if someone expects trendy fusion or experimental plating, this may not be their scene. But for diners looking for authentic Korean comfort food, that focus is actually a strength. Reviews often highlight how the flavors remind people of home cooking rather than restaurant shortcuts, and that sentiment lines up closely with my own experiences.

From the careful preparation methods to the relaxed, knowledgeable service, everything works together naturally. Meals here aren’t rushed performances; they unfold at a pace that encourages conversation and return visits, which is probably why so many locals quietly consider it a go-to spot rather than a hidden secret.

  • Loved everything we ordered. Tried the Toke Bo Key appetizer. The rice dumplings and the sauce were so good. Entrees were Bulgogi and Vege Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap and they were both very flavorful. The sides were amazing, my favorites were the radish and cucumbers and my husband's favorite was the kimchi. The service was great, our server was very helpful and recommended some dishes. Can't wait to return, I think the House of Seoul has instantly become our favorite restaurant!

  • Absolutely delicious food and the lady was so welcoming and chatty with us. She explained what all of the side dishes were and encouraged us to mix them with our rice. We had the wontons to start and they were so crispy and fresh. The bibimbop was so flavorful and the portion was just perfect. We’ll be back!

  • I had their chicken teriyaki. So far the best in the Spokane area. It is grilled & charred some. Exactly how I like it. Problem is, the hours they are open is not consistent. Call a head of time is a must. The hrs posted on this site is incorrect.

  • They were busier than usual, so service was a bit slow because of the people there before us, but the staff was so kind and attentive- they even managed to sneak out an appetizer early for our starving children! The food was DELICIOUS- we had kimbap, plain rice, beef bulgogi, and kimchi fried rice. All winners!

  • I was struggling to find a good Korean place that serves authentic Korean flavors because I'm still fairly new to Spokane. Then someone on Facebook highly recommended this place and I just had to try it. The banchan were so good, the kimchi was well fermented and I loved the oi muchim. I was hesitant to bring my husband because he doesn't like spicy food at all and has zero spice tolerance but I saw they had bimbimbap and he was sold. They served the bibimbap in a dolsot and he enjoyed scraping the roasted rice at the bottom. As for myself, I had the spicy seafood soondobu and it was delicious. The spice level was perfect and tasted authentic. By the time a finished, my sinus was cleared and I had a little sweat forming. If you are looking for authentic flavors and experience, try this place. And highly recommend the above orders, I can't wait to try the spicy tripe soup and the soybean paste and the teokbokki!

  • Best Korean Restaurant I have been to so far. I had the ribs and my daughter had the bibimbap. So much flavor.

  • Very good food with very friendly owners, only gripe is I wish they put a little less salt.

  • If you're like us, you're always on the lookout for the understated hole-in-the-wall that over-delivers. THIS IS IT!! I can't properly describe the experience we had, but I'll try. The lady working the front of the house was incredibly friendly, open, and hilarious. I want to sit with her and drink. Because she'd be funny, while imparting solid life wisdoms on you. Genuinely. The food was incredible! Doesn't matter if you know Korean food or not, you'll be happy. Prices were consistent with everything I've said. You're going to park at this place and wonder what you're getting into, but you're going to leave happy. So far, in 2023, this was my favorite dining experience.
